Back from the London Bike Show
29th of January, 2013

It’s show time again for Foffa bikes. We’ve kicked off January in style with the London Bike Show, held at the prestigious London Excel Centre.

There’s nothing more invigorating than getting out there and talking to people who are as passionate about bikes as we are. As a bike brand you can get lost in the nuts and bolts (excuse the pun) of everyday business running and can lose sight of all the exciting things happening in the cycle world. Bike shows are that chance for everyone to geek out and talk to like-minded folk about all things on two wheels.

There’s always a real buzz in the shop when we start preparing display bikes for shows as they’re always something a little bit extra special. We all get involved in choosing the bike builds for shows and usually reach mutual agreement on what works...and when agreement is not possible we battle it out with big sticks and sometimes bike tools. Maybe a step too far some may think, but sometimes it’s only when blood is shed that you know they are serious about their bike design.

With the launch of our geared range in summer 2012, it’s been exciting to see the bike customization move to another level. This is mainly due to the creativity of our customers – they’re the ones who decide what we build after all. If you are one of them – thank you! If you are not – the magic all starts with the bike builder WARNING: You can lose hours of your life on this thing! Within our geared range, our classic touring bike is a great example of how choosing the right pieces can create something really special. It was a favorite with the punters within our show display. How could you not love this?

---

This year was also our first official Foffa Track Bike Criterium and the UK's first ever indoor criterium race! The 600 metre circuit was a replica of the summer Nocturne course – it looked awesome! The races were fast and furious with a few slow and laid back races thanks to the Penny Farthings. Hats off to those who can get on one, let alone ride one!

here is Dani at the podium with 1st place winner Francesco Martuzzi.

and here is Dani on a little break watching the race!

OUR HIGHLIGHTS:

ALL: This random guy!

DANI: All the great feedback and visit from his dad

TERRY: the WD40 ladies

ANDY: It was a really friendly atmosphere. I really enjoyed chatting with other brands about their bikes – the was a lot of mutual love our there…oh and the WD40 ladies.

TYSON: The nocturne ride gave the show a real focal point in the afternoons. Nothing beats a good race!

It was a fantastic event and well worth losing our voices and becoming coffee addicts for.

Bring on the Bike and Triathlon Show in Manchester on the 16th Feb!

BeFit4 Foffa Launch party
26th of July, 2012

A big thank you once again for all of those that made it to the Launch party last night! It was a brilliant evening and after all the BeFit4 training Tyson endured in the last few weeks he even managed to beat Dani at the Rollapaluza Finals!

See the Rollapaluza results HERE.

This is Dani and Tyson shaking hands before the very Final

And here is a pic of (from left to right) Dani, Gerry (owner of the Bicycle Basecamp blog, also one of the sponsors of the evening) and Tyson.

June 4th - Vulpine Fete
20th of May, 2012

Foffa Bikes is going to exhibit at the Vulpine Cycling Fete on the 4th of June.

The venue, Balham Bowls Club, is a vintage-chic British pub/bar/restaurant/venue with retro-chic wood paneled walls and ironic doilies.
It is 2 minutes walk from Balham Northern Line Tube and mainline rail, is on a Cycle Super Highway and is a very pleasant and accessible ride via Richmond Park, Battersea Park and Clapham Common.

The event is free, and welcoming of all cyclists, whatever their creed, interest or ability.

Add in bunting, cake stalls, tea, coffee, beer garden, BBQ, artists and a host of entertainment including live graffiti from The Toaster and Roller Racing for all ages from Rollapaluza and you've got a great way for everyone to celebrate design, entrepreneurialism and cycling.

We hope to see you there!

Back from the Bespoke Bristol
27th of March, 2012

We finally came back from the Bespoke Bristol yesterday morning (at 1am!) and it certainly felt like the 3 longest days of our lives!

The response was brilliant, especially on our new bike builder and our new range of designer stickers.

Here is Andy shocasing the bike builder on our flat screen controlled wirelessly with the Ipad.

We also got the chance to have a good chat with Keith, the main man at Reynolds. He is a very friendly and approachable guy and was kind enough to allow us to take a picture of him with Dani next to our geared range made of Columbus tubing:)

We also got the chance to have a good chat with some of the guys in the industry like Ted from Ted James Design, John from 14 Bike, Jamie from Fresh Tripe and the guys at Tokyo Fixed, and were surprised to see how they are all very decent people with a passion for what they do. Dani also challenged Tokyo Fixed manager Andy to a roller race and won! Although Andy did admit having a few beers before the event so I guess we can't call it a fair fight!

Back from the London Bike Show
17th of January, 2012

We are finally back from the London Bike Show and very pleased with the results. It has been an intense 4 days and we managed not to lose our voice as much as the NEC last year so definitely a big improvement there! The Gears and Ciao had a great feedback and we had a lot of interest from other bike shops and brands too.

We cheekily wheeled one of our bikes to the Boat Show at the other side of the Excel and got a lot of attention, especially when we parked our bike next some of the luxury cars by the boats:)
